What the Hell is going on?

October 15, 2006

I can’t stand it anymore.  The article I read on Fox news reduced me to tears.  I’m referring to the one about the young Navy Seal, Michael Monsoor, who threw his body on a grenade to save his buddies.  My heart is breaking for his mother and father.  I can’t stop crying.  My own son is in the Air Force and I live in fear that he may have to go to that retched country and fight the inhuman insurgent filth that call themselves God fearing Muslims.  What do they know about God!  They kill babies and children, torture, murder and be-head people who are their neighbors and Muslims just like them.  They call us the Great Satan,  I say they are the great Satan!  They are saturated with lies!  They know nothing of God or His ways.  They choose to disobey God’s laws and make their own demented interpretations.  They twist and it so they can dominate women and children or anyone they perceive as weaker.  Do they really think they will end up in heaven with a bunch of nymphomaniac virgins just waiting to full-fill their sick desires?  And what makes them think they will be satisfied with that?  They regard their wives as less valuable then their stinking camels!  Or are the women in heaven better than the ones on earth?

I can’t stand it anymore.  I hate the war in Iraq and I hate the people we are fighting.  They are all crazy.  They don’t want peace.  They are full of blood lust and completely insane.  I can’t even find it in my heart to pray for them anymore and when I do pray I find myself drawn to the Old Testament asking God to pass judgement on the vile evil that has corrupted the middle east.  I pray for swift judgement.  I pray that God will exact retribution for the deaths of our sons and daughters.  I don’t like how I feel and so I try to remember to  pray that God will heal my heart and the hearts of every mother who has lost a child to the heartless murderers who call them selves men.

So there.  That’s it.  My heart of broken.  I’m afraid for our soldiers.  There is so much pain, so many broken hearts.  If we can’t bring them home, let’s at least show them we love them and pray for them.  And, pray for each other.   And, pray for me.

Where are we going?

August 27, 2006

I’m concerned and confused.  I recently heard that a drug smuggler was bringing charges against border patrol agents who shot him in the line of duty, while in the act and in posession.  Why is this even going to court?  Why are we comming to the aid of an already convicted felon, caught again, smuggling drugs into our country?  What is this all about?  Have we lost our minds?  Have we forgotten what these people are doing to us, our children, our nation?

There used to be a time, when criminals were caught and punished.  Now, we are providing them with financial and legal aid to prosecute the very  people we are paying to protect us from them.  This is not freedom.  This is not protection of rights.  Does anyone else see the sheer stupidity of this situation?  This man wasn’t even a citizen.  What is wrong with this picture.  Why aren’t people doing anything to stop this nonsense.

Does anyone out there have an answer?

Kids!

August 27, 2006

What is it with kids these days.  My thirteen year old daughter lives and breathes boys.  When she doesn’t have one she wants one.  When she has one she want’s a different one.  She talks about “going out” but doesn’t go anywhere.  She’s not allowed!  Right now she has a boyfriend.  Life is good.  They don’t go anywhere together and when she talks to him on the phone, she is watching t.v. and he is playing a video game.   They are spending my cell minutes with a phone to their ears and not saying anything!  Do your kids do this?  I guess I should be counting my blessings.  They’re not out in some abandoned building doing the nasty. I guess I’ll invest in a few more minutes and be happy.

She’s the Man STINKS BIGTIME

July 24, 2006

OHMYGOSH!  I let me 13 year old daughter rent this movie and it is the pits!  If you haven’t seen it yet don’t bother!  Not only is it really boring with a lame story line and so so acting but I found it to be quite offensive really.

The story is about a girl who impersonates her brother so she can get into a cool school.  At first the movie seems like just another dull high-school kid movie.  My daughter liked the cute boys.  Of course that is her primary reason for renting any movie.  OK, whatever.  We ho hummed ourselves through an hour of doldrums and at the end she is found out.  Her  brother has to pull down his pants to prove to the cheering crowd that he is really a boy, much to his father’s proud delight.  (guess he is well endowed) and she has to pull up her shirt to prove she is a girl.  (much to the soccer teams delight).  Oh, except for one soccer player who boldly exclaims to the plain jane who is hopelessly in love with him that he is gay and proud of it.  She then reveals that she is in fact a he in drag, and they joyously and passionately kiss each other…  Oh and end up at the prom together.  YUCK!

Maybe I’m just an old fashioned miss goody two shoes, but I really wish Hollywood would stop shoving this kind of crap down our throats.  I have nothing against gay relationships as long as it’s not pushed on me and my kids.  I’m tired of the ultra liberal lifestyle being flaunted at every opportunity.  I don’t want my kids to think that whatever they want, or feels good is OK because sometimes it’s not.  Why isn’t that placed on the label under the parental advisory with the rating?  Mature themes, some sexual content, gay and lesbian theme.  Why does Hollywood assume that it’s OK with everyone or should be?  Why aren’t parents in the loop anymore?  Why should the movie industry be trusted with deciding what is OK for a kid to see and not the parents?????

What do you think?

STAY…Where???

July 6, 2006

Last weekend, I went to the rental section of the local grocery store and saw this interesting movie and decided to rent it.  Stay   With Ewan MacGregor, Naomi Watts and another nice looking young man who’s name I can’t remember right now.  Anyway, when it was all said and done there I sat, like maybe 98% of all the other Americans who saw it, with a ridiculously dumbfounded look on my face wondering just  what the heck was that all about!

Well, Yesterday, as I was cutting out pictures from a book, I had a revelation!  Maybe not from God but it was a revelation all the same.  MacGregor’s character whose name is Sam (I think) in the movie is not a psychiatrist as implied but in-fact an artist who is psychotic.  This is why, most of the characters in his delusional world are either psychiatrists or artists.  He stops taking his meds, which are the meds shown in the movie (the name of the prescriptee we cannot see) that he counts everyday.  He has attributed them to his, maybe is maybe isn’t, suicidal girlfriend (Naomi Watts).  The apartment with all the small script saying “forgive me” is in-fact his own apartment.  The paintings attributed to Henry, the other main character who may or may not be an artist and it doesn’t really matter, are really Sam’s too. In the movie, Sam the so called psychiatrist, described to his girlfriend how Henry can create whole worlds with his imagination if he concentrates hard enough.  He is actually describing his own imaginative abilities.   None of the scenes are reality except for the very last scene which shows us the actual automobile accident which kills Henry, his girlfriend and parents.  Sam, who has already stopped taking his meds, and is delusional stops to help.  In his psychotic stage he assumes the persona of a doctor.  H cannot save Henry and this is the milestone of a total decomposition into a complete psychotic episode.  Whether or not he has a relationship with the woman played by Watts is irrelevant.  Perhaps they did fall in love and perhaps she attempted or successfully committed suicide.  Perhaps he himself, committed suicide and that is how he got stuck in this nightmarish world between life and death.  Maybe I’m full of crap and don’t know what the heck I’m talking about.

I’ve been waiting all my life for this!

July 6, 2006

I’ve been telling people for months that I want to blog.  And here I am.  The problem is, I have so much on my mind that I’m having a little trouble deciding where to start.

I guess I’ll start out by telling a little about myself.  I am a displaces desert rat from Tucson, Arizona.  My husband first dragged me from Tucson to Florence Arizona (Hell on Earth)  then to Colorado….OK not dragged exactly because Colorado is beautiful, then to Lincoln, Nebraska.  This time kicking and screaming.  I’m still screaming.

The hope was that we were moving to a quieter, more conservative, CHEAPER (oh yeah) lifestyle.  The reality is, higher taxes, higher taxes and even higher taxes.  Believe it or not, our taxes on our little 800 sq. ft. house is over $2,400 a year…my brain calculates that to over $200. a month just for taxes!  This month they re-evaluated our house and up-ed the value over $17k.  We figure that at the going rate that will increase our taxes by about $36. a month.  Now that may not seem like much to most people but when your income is just above poverty level (with both income earners bearing degrees and working on advanced ones to boot) it is pretty disturbing.

Now, I know what you are going to say.  Write to your Congressman.  I did.  Every response I received, and some were actually via telephone, albeit, not from the Congressman but from someone in his office, pointed the finger to one person.  Our esteemed mayor.  You guessed it.  That person never bothered to respond.  Not even a generic email saying ” Thanks for your email now go away”.

The mayor of Lincoln is a lovey, gray haired, matronly woman who thinks she lives in New York City.  The goal is: lots of green tree filled parks, big convention halls, trendy restaurants and art galleries and so on and so on.  However, there are not many people living here and we have to pay for it all. With Taxes.  Gas is .20 a gallon more than in surrounding states.  People stand in blood-bank lines to make an extra few cents for gas.  But then I suppose they are doing that all over America. Add to that the fact that it is as cold as camel snot in the winter and we have tornadoes in the summer does not put this at the top of Corporate Americas list of places to open a  new business.  We have a nice University.  Enrollment is actually up.  I think that is mostly because the benevolent folks who run it have decided to give instate tuition to the children of illegal immigrants…yes you read right  ILLEGAL.  Oh, if, however, you were born in the United States, and you lived in Nebraska for over a year, and work in Nebraska, they will use the fact that you lived here for at least a year before enrolling as proof that you moved here only to attend the university and not because you love it here and charge you our of state tuition for the duration of your education.  I know that sounds really stupid and you may have to re-read it to  understand the sentance but that is how it is actually stipulated in the student handbook.  (I scream again).  I could go on and on about things like the fact that the public school won’t provide busing (can’t afford it on their meager budget) and they don’t have grades in but here you are allowed to continue until you are 25.  Less kids are graduating, I wonder why.  That is one reason for allowing illegal immigrants kids to get in state tuition.  We are not graduating  kids to fill the college and the kids from California don’t like the weather. GEE! Go figure!

Well, there are certainly worse places to live.  At least I’m not in Iraq.  As big a mouth as I have, I would have been left in the desert to die years ago, or worse.  At least here I can mouth off when I want to.  Now, if someone would just listen to me I might be able to get off the meds.
